agballa notes - issue 21 - let's just not

hi hi!

so, I fell off the writing wednesdays groove. I got distracted by all the other things that pull a business owner’s attention: social media content, finding clients, interviews & connection calls, ā€œnetworkingā€ aka meeting new people calls, podcast applications, planning for 2026 (only cuz it’s exciting and I love to plan, not cuz gregorian new year), and most of all, client work!

and also tending to my almost 3yo, our 12yo, our home & family.

and winter and tending to my mental health, which ebbs and flows cuz breastfeeding and hormones, cuz a lot less sunlight.

writing this newsletter started to feel heavy, just as writing the ebook did. so I didn’t force my self to. I was going to try to put out a live winter reflection & reset, and then I decided to take my own advice and slow way the eff down and just not.

it’s not that I don’t want to remain consistent (I’ve proven to my self I can be), it’s not that I don’t remain devoted or that I don’t want to write this newsletter or the ebook anymore.

it’s that it’s time to reflect. to pause and look back and attune to what has been so that I can more clearly attune to what can and will be.

how have you been faring this december? what are you saying no to? what are you saying yes to?

I really do love this month. for the way it invites into darkness, into coziness, into introspection, into magic. I binge fantasy books and movies and these days I guess fun & feminine heist movies (think: ocean’s 8). I get more into pen to paper, painting, and doodling. taking baby out to play when there’s sunlight (cuz there’s still sunlight here in utah mid-december!!)

and when I feel into the gregorian year of 2026, I’m feeling like it’s a year of devotion, of showing up, of watching dreams we’ve held for years finally come into fruition.

but for now, we rest.

oh! but if you’d like to join, I’ve got another creating in kapwa co-working/co-creating gathering this evening at 4pm Pacific, 6pm Central, 7pm Eastern. come bring your doodles, your writing, the gifts you need to wrap and let’s cruise! you can sign up at the link or just reply to this email to lmk you're coming :)

bipoc only, thank you!

wishing you a nourishing, dark, and contemplative december/solstice.

loving you, kapwa-tao,
teresa

read time: ~7 min happy full moon aquarius, jupiter in leo cazimi, Reader! this past weekend, my family and I were invited to join my partner’s brother’s friends/chosen family on their annual camping trip. we said yes, and it was a beautiful, unexpected three days ā€œoff-the-grid.ā€ no reception, no phone, no tech. I believe hollywood grooms us to be afraid of moments like these, and I’m also not naive to the fact that could have been a dangerous situation, but we were in good company. we were...

hey Reader! this mercury rx has been slapping me right around šŸ˜… hbu? lots has been going on behind-the-scenes, lots of ideas and movement and what we call in our house, action jaction!! all good things, really, and I feel incredibly blessed and grateful that the things I’ve been asking for are being shown in real time. and also, I’ve been rushing through things to check them off the list (iykyk). like, last week, I fired off this newsletter cuz it was on the list WITHOUT double checking,...

hey Reader, blessed new moon in cancer! what’s been coming up for you emotionally lately? how is it showing up in your work, home, and creative practice? feel free to reply if you’d like to share, or use this as a journal prompt. I’ve been thinking about ā€œself-careā€ vs. ā€œself-centered,ā€ and the deep connection between care, home, and belonging. water, memory, ancestors, emotion—these are the themes of this cycle. so here’s lesson three from my recent fallow period: our first home is...
