hi hi! so, I fell off the writing wednesdays groove. I got distracted by all the other things that pull a business ownerās attention: social media content, finding clients, interviews & connection calls, ānetworkingā aka meeting new people calls, podcast applications, planning for 2026 (only cuz itās exciting and I love to plan, not cuz gregorian new year), and most of all, client work! and also tending to my almost 3yo, our 12yo, our home & family. and winter and tending to my mental health, which ebbs and flows cuz breastfeeding and hormones, cuz a lot less sunlight. writing this newsletter started to feel heavy, just as writing the ebook did. so I didnāt force my self to. I was going to try to put out a live winter reflection & reset, and then I decided to take my own advice and slow way the eff down and just not. itās not that I donāt want to remain consistent (Iāve proven to my self I can be), itās not that I donāt remain devoted or that I donāt want to write this newsletter or the ebook anymore. itās that itās time to reflect. to pause and look back and attune to what has been so that I can more clearly attune to what can and will be. how have you been faring this december? what are you saying no to? what are you saying yes to? I really do love this month. for the way it invites into darkness, into coziness, into introspection, into magic. I binge fantasy books and movies and these days I guess fun & feminine heist movies (think: oceanās 8). I get more into pen to paper, painting, and doodling. taking baby out to play when thereās sunlight (cuz thereās still sunlight here in utah mid-december!!) and when I feel into the gregorian year of 2026, Iām feeling like itās a year of devotion, of showing up, of watching dreams weāve held for years finally come into fruition. but for now, we rest. oh! but if youād like to join, Iāve got another creating in kapwa co-working/co-creating gathering this evening at 4pm Pacific, 6pm Central, 7pm Eastern. come bring your doodles, your writing, the gifts you need to wrap and letās cruise! you can sign up at the link or just reply to this email to lmk you're coming :) bipoc only, thank you! wishing you a nourishing, dark, and contemplative december/solstice. loving you, kapwa-tao, If you ever feel the need to unsubscribe, I respect that. agballa updates various musings (and an occasional prompt) on the intersections of creativity, wellness, ancestors, and maybe a little mama/auntiehood :)
read time: ~7 min happy full moon aquarius, jupiter in leo cazimi, Reader! this past weekend, my family and I were invited to join my partnerās brotherās friends/chosen family on their annual camping trip. we said yes, and it was a beautiful, unexpected three days āoff-the-grid.ā no reception, no phone, no tech. I believe hollywood grooms us to be afraid of moments like these, and Iām also not naive to the fact that could have been a dangerous situation, but we were in good company. we were...
hey Reader! this mercury rx has been slapping me right around š hbu? lots has been going on behind-the-scenes, lots of ideas and movement and what we call in our house, action jaction!! all good things, really, and I feel incredibly blessed and grateful that the things Iāve been asking for are being shown in real time. and also, Iāve been rushing through things to check them off the list (iykyk). like, last week, I fired off this newsletter cuz it was on the list WITHOUT double checking,...
hey Reader, blessed new moon in cancer! whatās been coming up for you emotionally lately? how is it showing up in your work, home, and creative practice? feel free to reply if youād like to share, or use this as a journal prompt. Iāve been thinking about āself-careā vs. āself-centered,ā and the deep connection between care, home, and belonging. water, memory, ancestors, emotionāthese are the themes of this cycle. so hereās lesson three from my recent fallow period: our first home is...
